Hello Everyone!
Beastly is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast which starts off with Kyle who is running for class president in which shows all his "flaws"
(cocky, mean, greedy) on how he 'actually' believes looks and money is the way to life (because of his fathers views). His "flaws" lead to why the "witch" changed his change in appearance (as seen above). He went from being the hottest guy in school to the ugliest guy in the whole school, finding out how many of his friends were not really his friends. As you may have already noticed, if read or watched any Beauty and the Beast tales it follows it... not many surprises (can be fairly predictable). In which later on Lindy (female lead or "Bell") is send to live with Kyle (Hunter or "The Beast") for reasons... I will not spoil.

Though I did not enjoy the movie, because I expected it to follow the novel. I still recommend it to all Beauty and The Beast... Twilight... Paranormal Romance lovers in general I believe you may enjoy this movie and if you enjoy reading... pick up the book (I would recommend to watch the movie first).
Please do not... NOT watch this movie because of my review (if you felt like you wanted to watch this movie before you read my review... then give it a chance.. and judge it on your own terms)

Beastly begins with arrogant good looking Kyle Kingson who arrogant ways develop because of his Rob Kingson who is a wealthy anchor for some news channel. Kyle firmly believes that being rich and good looking are what makes you a better person in life (a theory he gained from his father). Kyle had it all good looks, wealth and a hot girlfriend to go with it not to mention his popularity at his school. This all changed when he decided to bully Kendra --a witch disguised as a regular student-- by inviting her to the dance which he makes a huge announcement on how she was able to believe that "someone like him" would go out with "someone like her." Kendra realized at that very moment that Kyle needed to learn how to be a better person.
Transforming him into "the beast" but instead of having the fur and claws of a beast he has hideous scars, no hair and tattoos all over his body (he looks like a thug... if you as me but, I actually liked this change). His father send him to every doctor possible, but every doctor did not want to do an "impossible" operation. Therefore his father send him outside of to the far side of Brooklyn in an five story apartment bullied where his is to live with Will and Zola who end up being more then just his teacher and maid.
A year went by fast before he re-thought-about Lindy the class treasure he met in school she was simple and rather average but after Slone dumped him once she saw his face; he knew that Lindy could be the penitential candidate to breaking the curse but does she really want to be with him or even get to know him?
MY OVERVIEW(S):
THE BOOK VS. THE MOVIE
I made a mistake... I read the book before the movie. I know... I know... Maybe you are in the group of people whom actually looks forward to reading books before the movies. I am not in that group, though I have made exceptions (this led to me disliking this movie). So my review will be bias.
Let me just point out I loved the book...
(so your opinion may differ from mine... you may dislike the story in general)
I gave this movie three out of five stars, I would have giving it a lower rating (based on the book), but the movie [itself] was not "bad". Though I truly believe that Hollywood ruined the story or should I say that Daniel Barnz (screenwriter/director) did. The story itself was already great and I truly believe he could have fit the "original novel story" in 86 minutes and still make the budget. A lot of important scenes were either missing or changed... (no magic mirror)... just read the book to see what I'm blabbing about. I felt that the book concentrated on Kyle's personality change: became a "loving" human-being ...(before he met "Bell" and despite being a monstrous beast ) but the film focused mostly "on the relationship" as if Kyle was changing for her... (or at least... that's how I see it) All this Aside. [Sorry, if I spoiled anything for you]
In the end... the Book is better than the movie (in my opinion).
Books are usually better than their movies.
CAST:
Alex Pettyfer as Kyle Kingson/Hunter
(novel: Kyle Kingsbury/Adrian King)
Kyle (who play the character adaption of "The Beast") is an arrogant, cocky, selfish guy who can only think of himself. The movie begins with him making his speech on how looks are the key to success and such, such, He was running for student body president... (if I recall correctly... In the novel it was King for the dance) but as you may already know he eventually learns that... that is no the case, because of his lack of consideration Kyle is curse to live as a "beast," for a year with the small hope of breaking the curse... if he is too fall in love and be loved back.

Who secretly has a crush on Kyle though, she knows him to be that arrogant, jerk, who barely even acknowledges her. As he is away she gets taken away from her "loving" home and everything she owns to go live with a stranger she refuses to meet.
Mary-Kate Olsen as Kendra Hilferty
Kendra (who play the character adaption of "The Witch") is introduced as an average disturbed teenager who is secretly watching Kyle's way of being that she does no like so much. When Kyle invited her to the dance she accepted as a test for Kyle. Kyle failed the test which lead to his transformation. She gave him one year to change his ways by falling in love with a girl who can love a back the way he looks as a hideous "beast".
